FAQ
Is higher DPI better?
No. DPI is just how finely the sensor counts; once you're at the sensor's native step (commonly 800 or 1600) there's no accuracy gain from going higher. Pick a native DPI and set feel with cm/360°.
What should Windows pointer speed be?
The 6th of 11 notches (the middle). Any other notch multiplies your counts and breaks the DPI–to–counts assumption. Turn off “Enhance pointer precision.”
Do I need raw input?
Yes, enable it in-game where offered. It bypasses the OS pointer pipeline so the game reads counts directly.
1000 Hz or 8000 Hz polling?
1000 Hz is plenty for almost everyone; 8000 Hz costs measurable CPU for a difference most can't feel. We dug into it in the polling-rate post.
What's a “good” cm/360°?
Most competitive players sit between 28 and 45 cm. Lower suits flick-heavy hitscan; higher suits tracking and tactical play. There's no single right answer — consistency beats any specific value.
Does Sensify store anything?
